This month we feature the council's new producer statement author search facility, the new street performance <br />policy and the signs and billboards bylaw.<br />

+02 How would you manage traffic?<br />
<br />
Applications for resource consents often need a Traffic Management Plan (TMP), detailing how you would manage <br />traffic such as pedestrians, vehicles and cyclists. A TMP is required for large events such as festivals, and for<br /> large-scale building developments during the construction phase of the project.<br />

+03 Search for producer statement authors online<br />
<br />
A producer statement is submitted to council to confirm that a building design is done in accordance with the <br />building consent.<br />
You can now search online for an approved producer statement author for your project.<br />

+04 Does your pool fence comply?<br />
<br />
Did you know that your responsibilities when installing a swimming or spa pool don’t end once a Code of <br />Compliance Certificate is issued? Under the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987, local authorities must inspect <br />pools on a regular basis to ensure fencing is maintained to a complying standard.<br />

+05 Local Government Act engineering approvals<br />
<br />
The council's development engineering division administers the Local Government Act approval process. This <br />process is used mostly by private entities for constructing public and private drainage on another party's <br />private land, usually to facilitate developments.<br />

+06 Where can I place a sign or billboard?<br />
<br />
Signs and billboards are controlled in Auckland city by Part 27 of the bylaw. The bylaw lists areas in the city <br />where signs and billboards may be appropriate, as well as the size and location of signs and billboards on <br />private property.<br />
